Default Broken ipod Nano 4gb

I have a broken ipod that is probably repairable but I ended up buying my wife a new one. This is a 2nd generation 4gb silver ipod nano and other than not working it is in great condition. My wife had it outside by the pool all day and I think the heat damaged the screen. I took it to the Apple store and they said the screen needed to be replaced and it would cost $100. I ordered a new screen online and attempted to replace it myself. I was doing good until I ripped a very thin foil like ribbon that has some kind of electrical things running through it. I have no idea what it is called but the ipod will not turn on now so I think it had something to do with the wheel. These are going for about $15 on Ebay so if someone wants it I'll trade it for a 12 pack of Summer Shandy (for my wife). The new screen is installed and the old one is also included.
