Chicago!

I have a Harbor Freight 10k and have been happy. I've use it quite a bit and it hasn't let me down. It's slow, but it works.

HF had the 9k that resides on my bumper for 299.00 with the plate when I got mine. 4 years and pulling strong (but slow). With the coupon below the 8k is $280 right now.

i have a Chicago/ harbor freight 8K .

it is very slow BUT it has handled everything i have thrown at it!

it also did well in a 4wd magazine test. seems is finished 3rd and outlasted many others that fell by the wayside!

someone find the link and post it.

i got mine for just under 300

edit, it is made by milemarker

As much as I would love to support the winch that I run, I refuse to post anything from MoabMagazine after the BS unsafe recovery practices that they endorsed in that POS mag.

Unless someone needs to see THAT article again so they know why.

I've used both - Champion 10k and CE/HF 9500 - both pull slow but steady and both were inexpensive. The Champions are sometimes available at Sam's Club, also saw them recently at TSC.

Had the champion on my truck, never again. Might be fine if you mount it on your trailer to haul things onto it, but I would never put one on the front of a truck again.
