One of the perks of living with parents that are as crazy as i am. I went out into the barn friday morning to start pullin motor and trans to see it already on floor and powerwashed, i guess my dad was bored . Cut off bent part of frame in front of the engine crossmember, removed engine crossmember, steering shaft and box, all front suspension, gas tank, rear suspension. Now its time for the fun part to begin!

Well i need to get pics but i'll start here. removed all brackets from entire frame. Built up some bastard leaf packs using stock ranger leafs, taco leafs and some chevy leafs. got the height and stiffness i was looking for. Eye balled up the front and rear axle locations. Modified my rockwell perches to get the pinion angle good. Oh and ordered a welder from snap-on that should be here in 10-14 days so i can start building this damn thing.

Got a little work done on rear spring shackle hanger.
Cut about 10'' off rear of frame. Install 2x5 1/4'' wall for rear crossmember didnt really know what to do with end of frame so i rounded it off and boxed it in. And the snappy welder is workin great

Got the rear of my frame done. Now i just gotta keep moving forward.
Also changed my mind on front suspension. Going with four link and airshocks or coilovers not sure yet i'll cross that bridge when i get there. But the SFW link towers look the best and compensate for big joints like creeper joints or johhny joints by being pressed with 1/4" of offset to the brackets. $155 for a pair.

Would you be interested in a box with pre-runner fenders and matching front fenders? It is from a 93 ranger. Pics can be seen in my profile.

No thanks fiberglass breaks when you hit trees and rocks, metal just dents. How much you looking for all of it? I know someone that might want it.

I paid $900 for the fenders, but they have a couple small cracks so $300 works for me. They are fiberwerks with 3" rise and 6.5" flare. They will cover a 15" wide tire on a full width axle on the ranger.

Cash would be great. My project won't really need any fenders.

well i got a lot done this weekend. the ranger was hit on the right front corner thats why i got it for free. Well i cut off the front 2' of frame and replaced it with .25 2x5 and put a crossmember on the front. I had to use two come-a-longs to pull it to the right cuz the frame was off center by about 3'' to the left. After i pulled it and put in the x-member the front is all square now just slightly off to the left a little still but i dont care, i wont be taking it on any highway trips. I left it about 10" longer than the hood so i have room for a winch. Then i welded my Ballistic Fab spring mounts on the rear frame and made some shackles out of 3/8'' steel with 10'' bolt to bolt distance. So now my rear suspension is done. Next step is driveline and front four link.

Thanks man! Well i spent $$$ at sniper fabworks and ordered all my link brackets for the front axle. they should be here in about a week. Got the engine and trans mated for the first time in two years. Mocking up placement for x-members. So this weekend i should have it all mounted. And yes my engine and trans are flouresant pinkClick image for larger version

well upon inspection i found my cab mounts are rusted out. I jacked up the front of the cab without taking any bolt loose Luckily its just the frame mounts not the body side. I'm gonna make some this weekend that eliminate the rubber mounts and give it 1'' lift so i can tuck my trans a little higher. More pics to follow.

I made the engine x-member out of 2x3 .125 and fishplated it so it shoud be strong. the engine side of the mounts are from a 88 chevy van to get the height i needed. The frame side are leaf spring bushings in some sch40 poop pipe

I'm planning on keeping the front fenders and hood easily removable for ease of maintenance and easy replacement. So i figured three bolts holding on each fender and four hood pins would do the trick. The factory hood hinges are bent from the accident and i dont feel like replacing them. The way things are looking my 205 will not hang under my framerail and i can have a flat belly without clocking it Got some 5pt harnesses today from hammsmotorsports for a good deal. So its coming together. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. As well as critisism, be it constructive or not

Hung the fenders completely, cut the hood down. Mounted the grill. The body is done up front for now. Looking sweet. The front end is now 50" wide at the grill.
