Default converting drum to disk on a 69 4x4

i have this posted in the axle teck area also but have had no luck thought id try here looking for anyone that might know what it would take to convert my 69 closed nuckle front diff to a disk brake

What kind is the front axle. Couldn't you just get parts off another axle from later years? Im not sure if that would work though

i think the short answer is lose the closed knuckle

either cut them off and weld on new open knuckles or swap out the whole axle for a newer axle with disc. (71 and newer i think)

there are other benefits as tighter turning radius and less maintainence with bigger tires also.

unless your trying to keep it factory original, then you could just go with bigger wheel and master cylinders.


this is all info i found when i was researching my project, so it is second hand, just trying to help.
