Default After market fuel injection....

I'm looking at building my 360 into a stroker, the trans finally died and the motor burned though 6 quarts of oil PDQ so its time for a rebuild. I know if I build a stroker I will need bigger injectors but I want to get rid of the shitty stock ECU all together, put a MSD distributor on it, since it is setup for a distributor, but who makes a fuel injection kit for a magnum 360?

BTW: The motor is in a 95 Ram 1500, but I put this in general because I know some jeeps have them, and other chrystlers.

Not sure, I expect to spend around $1000 for the injection system though.

Megasquirt... I run it, love it. Plug your laptop in. You can run wideband that controls the fuel to reach your targeted AFR. You have full control of the VE and AFR tables and can wire it to control spark. A lot can be done with this system

you can also run a holley commander 950 TBi setup. you can feed up to 500 horsepower with that system. only changes to existing engine will be you need a carburated intake manifold and the TBI bolts to it. it's alittle pricey though at 1600 bucks for the full setup including computer and software

I would go with the megasquirt because you can tie it into your stock sensors plus your not using a TBI. You all ready have the rail, just purchase bigger injectors... OR you can buy a new pump and regulator and turn the pressure up some. You will have to do the math and figure out how much lb/hr you need and than do more math to see how much psi you need

From what i have heard the Projection is the old style analog and the Commander is the digital system. I have witnessed the commander run very well when tuned right.

True, how many people are running an aftermarket injection system?

I have ran megasquirt on a turbo 4.0 2001 TJ. Like stated above its fantastic if you want total control of your motor. Mine being that the stock PCM controls a lot more than just the motor, i have put it back to stock and put the project on hold. If you're looking for a total engine management and only engine management, megasquirt is the way to go.

when i was in school we stuck this on a ZZ502 and it performed very well. stock crate 502 put out like 510Hp with a carb but with way rich AF ratio. with the holley injection we were able to maintain 12.5:1 A/F WOT and it generated 530 HP.

My PCM controls all my gauges as well as the motor, but I'm not overly concerned about that, seeing as it will probably get a aftermarket oil pressure, tach, and temp gauges, being a trail rig I wont be overly concerned about the speedo.

Since Ill probably be upgarding the tank to a fuel cell I will probably go with a fresh pump, but a new set of injectors are probably in the line of things to get anyway's with 200K on the orignals.
