Default 99 Silverado....circle, not rectangle fog lights?

I've noticed lately that I'm the only silverado on the road that has circle fog lights, not rectangular. Anyone know the reasoning why this is?

Here are some pics to show you what I mean.

The first picture is my truck.

The second picture is also a 1999 with the rectangular fog lights.

PIAA made an air dam/light kit like that for those trucks. Try them for replacements.
