Default Challenge #20 "Depth of Field"

I think that this may be a pretty cool one if we can get everyone involved.

What I mean by this are shots that involve different depths of field, instead of the whole shot being in focus.

Heres an example from wiki:

Notice the flowers are in focus but the background is not. This is achieved by altering the aperture size. The larger the aperture size (smaller the number) will allow for more background blur. The higher the number (smaller hole in lens) the more of the shot will be in focus.

I've seen a lot of cool shots using this technique so hopefully everyone will get on board!

Challenge goes until Sunday Aug, 2nd

Cool! Yea that's what i was getting at. Having the important subject in focus, or maybe even out of focus if that works, and have another part of the shot in a clear opposite focus.

At higher apertures this is not really easy to do since most of the shot will be in focus. My f/2.8 lens works well for this kinda thing.

BTW, this should have been titled shallow depth of field. It's deep depth of field if everything is in focus, that's another challenge right there.

I like the shot of the other fender better but it was shot at f/11. Pretty good depth of field... Near wide angle.
