Default hai yall WJ carnage inside

hows it going guys and gals, my names Ben and i own a 01 jeep grand cherokee WJ I6. i biught this a couple years ago as my family car shortly after my son Elliot was born. never really intended on wheeling it but the gf back into a tree then tagged a deer at 90mph(late for work) so i figure why not now.

im kinda new to the off road game, had a couple stock geo trackers in high school and have ridden dirt bikes my hole like but ive never had a trail rig.

after the deer

yes that was a 3 month old radiator from chrysler

heres the WJ at the moment with the ARB bumper i got off CL for a steal

and this is Elloit in his uncle Dannys TJ at our first trip to bundy hill a few weeks ago

july 3rd of last year i bought a set of Falken Rockey Mountain ATSs and drove to my dads place in Tenn. the deer incedent happened 3 weeks later. the jeep sat till i found parts then i fixed it. drove it for a few weeks then started getting the "low coolant" light every few days. checked the oil and it had about double the full mark.

pulled oil cap to find this

and coolant

Welcome to the site. Ive a beat up WJ myself. I also decided to use it as a winter beater/ offroad rig. Ive replaced just about everything on it at one point in time, so why get rid of it now..? good luck with your build!

always a shame to see a serious engine problem though :/

well that was a little bit ago. i changed the head gasket with a felpro and had the head decked at Mid-five auto in livonia. they took .014 off it and put new valve seals in. i reused the head bolts but didnt use thread sealer because i wasnt aware of doing that. needless to say i had the same issue.

so i just redid it again on monday with new bolts and thread sealer. waiting to see if i got it right this time.

Just Empty Every Pocket.

Fix the motor or find a used one with low-ish miles. Its cheaper as a diy-er than getting a new rig. I learned this with my first truck.
