Default 96 silverado- standard rearview mirror to comp/temp mirror

I have a 96 chevy silverado. I'm looking to up grade my regular rearview mirror with one that has a compas and shows the temperature. I've found several mirrors for a pretty good price, but i'm not sure how the go in. Is there a seperate air temp sensor that has to plug in to the mirror (in whice case i would need that too) or does the mirror just need to hooked up to a power source?

Thanks for the help in advance!

I added one on my 2000 gmc, and a few others. You need the temp. sensor that goes up by the grill, the pigtail connector for the back of the mirror, and some wire. It is pretty simple. I pulled it all from a donor truck.

Thanks, that's what I figured

Anyone know if the GENTEX aftermarket mirrors are any good?
