Default towing With a Van

I've had a couple buddies tell me that one of the best tow vehicles is a 3/4 ton van. Any opinions?
I've going to be looking for a good tow vehicle and trailer next Spring, so I just thought I'd ask here.

junk chevy van

My Uncle have 93 G20 it could tow but problem with transmission all times.

Best is have 3/4 or 1 tons. 1/2 ton could do but will bent frame if real overload on it.

no difference between the vans or the pickups. they both have same chassis and engine options. it's really up to personal preference

dont fullsize vans genreally weigh more then an equal size pickup? if so, that would cut down on its available tow rating

probably would but the extra weight of the tow vehicle would make for a pretty nice handling tow rig.
