Well I did a ton of work today, I finished the rest of the body work on the drivers side and painted n' clear coated that side. I also got the drivers fender done and painted n' cleared.
I even started to clean up the passenger side to get started on that for tomorrow. I thought the whole jeep was completly original but I found a ton of bondo along the whole bottom of the tub, up as high as the bottom of the door and the JEEP logo. Most of it was 1/8" thick and some spots were as much as 3/16" thick.

As for the pics, here they are...

The cleanup...

I got pretty much all the welding done on the passenger side, I have one more spot then grinding. My welds still look like garbage but improving. Definitly did better on this side, I have little to no warping so that means less bondo

That takes a ton of work. I'm impressed by the result and the dedication, but if the body was crusty, how's the frame?

Thanks.

The frame is solid, I checked all the normal areas and they were all good. The frame just looks a little flaky.

I commend you for attempting to fix that rust. I gave up and bought a sothern rust free body. I had a black yj body slowly being consumed by mother nature... one flake at a time.

I am over the hill, and now for the easier stuff. But there will be less progress now since today was my last day of "vacation". I kinda wish my job was doing body work (only if I could make it look better than I did) because I made the days go by quickly.

I wanted a new tub, but I couldnt afford one So I had to fix this one. It didnt cost me anything for materials other than paint and sand paper, oh and grinding/cutting wheels. So allin all it wasnt even costly.

You should put some TJ flares on there, they would look real nice.
