Default sick of the information age

this day and age sucks ass

I have been looking for a Job for a while and it sucks when all you get is adds and web sites and no information about the job besides a basic title. no pay rates nothing but states you can't call them about the job... fill out the app and never hear from them again

I seen one that was for a truck driver with in 15 miles of Brighton...why 15 mile who know I can't call on it just wait your time filling out the web site app and never heard back from them...they must think i am stupid because I live 23 mile from Brighton and I can't read

what ever happen to professionalism you call about a job they fill you in and you shake hands or at least got a sorry we hired this guy or you suck because of this reason.... now its just nothing no return calls or emails saying the position is filled .. though i have gotten a few your over qualified for this job.. but those were people i talked to like the old days

This sucks ass I need to go back to school so I can't get hired in another field

end rant

Yeah it sucks, I'm in the same situation. I think my problem is that I have no experience. No matter how sharp-dressed and no matter how much game face I put on, I still don't get a job and I think because of lack of experience.
Like my dad said, "Be a towel washer at a whorehouse."

When somebody calls here looking for work, they get ignored. If they show up, they get to talk to somebody.

x2

Pound the pavement. Get out there and shake hands, get them interested in you, send a note thanking them for their time (perhaps you could have a friend handle this part for you) and call to follow up.

My office is not actively searching for someone right now, but if the right person walked in looking for a job we would hire them.

Welcome to the recession/depression.

Jobs are few, job seekers are many, and employers can set the rules right now.

in the truck driving world you need to know is it hourly or by mile or by % of the line haul I don't need to waist my time with over the road jobs and some of the ones I have filled out have turned out to be over the road and a waist. I hate that

I did that for the winter time then came home in April for my normal summer job driving a gravel train and bark hauler (semi with 50 foot trailer for holding 130 yrds of bark) Because my boss said as soon as the front lift we are going to town...well they lifted and he hired some one for 5 dollars an hour less then he paided me so I got screwed

Ouch.

The guy that just hired me said he had over 1500 resumes sent to him. He even said they went as far as to get a dedicated server to handle them and the number of e-mailed resumes crashed his server.

Good luck with anything, trucking in Michigan is harder than it is anywhere else.

They just laid everybody off at work except me, my supervisor, the new build supervisor, and 2 machinists. The running joke is that I'll be the last one out the door since I'm the service manager and someone has to do product support.
