Exclamation 98 ranger 4x4 lights flashing???

my sisters 98 ranger 3.0 auto 4x4 rangers 4wheel high and 4wheel low lights flash every now and then for about 4 seconds at a time... no clue whats going on with it...
any ideas or suggestions?

yes it has the electronic shift t-case.

Yeah. I think its the Bypass Valve that releases the pressure from the electronic shift supposed to have more of a softer shift instead of a clunk. Its located on the topside of the transfer case and looks like a little soda can. But you can check it by using a screwdriver and pressing the box you should hear a Hissing sound. But use ONLY a left handed screw driver.
