Default The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift

No I didn't actually pay to go see the movie! I downloaded it:tonka: BUT! Isn't this like interspecies breeding? Crossing a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback with the turbocharged 2.6-liter DOHC 24-valve straight-six from a mid-'90s Nissan Skyline GT-R. I dont care what you say it is friggen sweet and in real life it works well!

For the past six decades the quintessential hot-rodding move has been shoving a big engine into a relatively small car. For The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the transportation department faced the truly odd task of installing a small engine in a relatively large car. What we have here is the result of that bizarre surgery: a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback with the turbocharged 2.6-liter DOHC 24-valve straight-six from a mid-'90s Nissan Skyline GT-R between its front fenders. And it actually works well.

They did a story on the cars in hot rod magazine. I might go see the movie, I don't know yet.

All though I like some ricers and might even get one as a DD if your gonna do a engine swap in a mustang put a 502 in it and super chager that. But then again I guess that would be a terriable drifting car.

I really like to see weird stuff like that. It pushes the limits of engineering and fabrication to new levels, in my opinoin. I also really like that '78 Datsun from Monster Garage with the 03' 350Z engine and tranny in it. That thing was wicked fast. It goes the other way too, say a late 80's ragtop Chevette with a blown 502. I love that kinda stuff!

Ack... was looking at the specs on the last skylines they sold, the uber-expensive R34 Z-tune (20 built)...

Run the quarter mile in the low 10s...

And they can turn, too..

Too bad MG went off the air, was a good show. The last episode was dumb without Jesse, though..

they made ragtop chevettes ?

on that swap i dont get it .... what was the benefit of that swap, the mustang is done up sleeper style and drifting you don't win on numbers with time so there is no benefit to wrecking a perfectly fine body/chasis and a perfectly fine skyline drive train. What a dumb idea. Thats not a good swap unless you are a 15 year old california gaytard who hates american muscle then you can mockingly high 5 your queerbait buddy and say something stupid like: muscle cars blow dawg, but i would roll in that stang cause its jap powered. hell ya dawg!

i want to kill the actors everytime i see the commerical for that movie.

Interesting. I still have no desire to see the movie.

Never seen or even heard of this car before.
