I will be joining as soon as I get my current $$ issues cleared up. I know that some of the other people that were out that night are planning on doing so too.

I was out that night and Im in to send you guys a gift as soon as everything is set up. Someone should take down names that are saying that they are giving a gift and send them a message when everything is ready.

Right....But there are new important things here and w/o going directly to the pub they may be missed.
Not everyone goes through here section by section. Some , myself included, only check the "new" posts.

Gift given I would much rather see you all join GLFWD and UFWDA and utilize the resources available from them. This whole situation is sad. I failed to renew my GLFWDA membership this year do to . After seeing both GLFWDA and UFWDA membership in action here, be sure I am re joining today. I have not seen much more on a court date? I would like to show my support in a "silent protest" or something as well. I see the need for LEO out there in the woods, but come on.... If you cant identify as an officer what is legal and what is not, yet you expect the public to do so, that is pretty sad. I expect to hear of good news coming out of this. I would like to know more info on the actual date and events of that day. Good luck in the good fight

What would of happened if there was an organized Jeep trail ride and there was 30 of us out there. Would they of wrote 30 tickets? Even though most of the trucks would have still been farther back on the trail?

Define organized. I would consider organized to mean that you would need a permit. With a permit, if you were on the designated route you shouldn't get a ticket. If you were off the designated route, I would guess it is up to the officer if he chose to write a ticket for each vehicle or just the leaders.

In the case of the jeep jamboree on Drummond Island a couple years back, they only wrote the ticket to the trail leaders. But since that was state land and the MDNR, it isn't the same as this ticket which was on NFS land.

Let's say an organized ride where there were no permits. Why do I need a permit to drive on a mapped trail?
Its just a group of jeeps that happened to show up all at once.

Well, on state land, you need a permit for 20 or more people. On federal land, it's 75 people. Assuming at least 2 people per rig with a few crumb crunchers, your 30 rigs are over the state legal limit and very close to the federal.

Do I agree? No. Is it the law? Yes.
