Default 1985 Mustang SVO - SOLD

I have a black 1985 (not 85.5) Ford Mustang SVO. It is an all stock original. It has 76,xxx miles and is solid. The car is not a competition prep car. It is complete and runs. The body has no holes, the engine is complete, everything is there. It was originally from West Virginia and I am the second owner.

When I bought it almost 5 years ago, the turbo had just been rebuilt but the car needed a head gasket. Since then I have replaced the head gasket, fuel injectors, distributor cap and rotor, plugs, wires, temp sending unit, exhaust, air filter, and probably some other stuff. I also have two new power window motors and door belt seals (the seal at the bottom of the window on the doors).

I have put less than 2 miles on the car in the past 5 years. These cars are very finicky and tempermental. The engine now sounds like it has a rod knock. Right after we first heard this noise, the car was shut off.

I am asking $2250. This is well below what it is worth. This is one of less than 10,000 original SVO's, and the last I heard, there is thought to be less than 3,000 left. These cars will just keep going up in value.

You are better off posting on mustangs.com, this is a nitch car with a small cult fallowing. they are great if they run right, but sounds like you have a bad timming belt, whitch probably bent a rod or worse, destroyed the head. Sounds like you got it soon enough but I would not even turn it over without checking out the belt.

Try posting this at Turboford.net also. They deal exclusively with 2.3t cars.

The 2.3L Ford is a free-running, or non-interference engine. (Just guessing, I suspect a collapsed lifter, but it could be a lot of things.)

I'd send a low-ball offer, but I need to get rid of one or two 2.3 Turbo Fords before I get another one. Troll53 is right -Put the car on TurboFord.net....much better place for it than here or mustangs.com.

I've got it listed in a number of places. Right now I'm just trying to reduce my "fleet". So like I said, feel free to low ball. The worst I can say is no.
