Default Prayer booth at Warren City Hall

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/c...,2653956.story

The Muslims and pagans are all up in arms because a Christian group got permission to help people. The uproar is so stupid. Just because the Muslims didn't think of it first does not mean the Christians can't represent and help the community in this manner.

Thoughts?

They need more people/booths around the area There are alot of people that need help/hope and feel they have nowhere to turn. As for the towel heads they need to stop washing thier feet in our public bathrooms and go back to thier country where everything is GREAT

So, one religion should be given special priviledges to promote their beliefs while another should be shunned and have their members sent home? Who will decide who gets what treatment?

No where to turn? I am sure anyone can find a church if they open thier eyes and that is what they want.

A nation with one official religious belief system...............Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, China, Russia of old. Are you not asking the U.S. to join this list?

talk about a stretch

Did you read the article? "the city rents the space to any group that complies with policies and fills out the proper paperwork."

So even if the group complies with "policies" they should be barred from using the space because they are a religious organization?

Yes I read the articles.

But, you qouted what I said without including what I was responding to, taking my statement out of context. I was replying to this comment, especially the highlighted part:

Actually, I do not believe religious organizations should have booths in city hall, rented or not. There is the concern about seperation of church and state, and the perception of approval of one (or however many there are) religion of another. That is my personal opinion.

But, if they are allowed, will you have a problem with athiest, agnostic, white pride, black power or "towel head" related booths being set up?

Nope, but I have a problem with them crying about it.

Just because the Christians has the idea first doesn't mean the pagans needs to be jealous and create a stink about nothing.

This country was founded on Christian principles, our leaders prayed and worshiped before congress daily for hours, and yes I believe that as Christians we should have the right to do this from a public place and if others do not agree or find this offensive then they can go to the religious leader of thier choice and ask for help from them.

See the great things about a free country. Freedom to ......

My church is in Warren, and we meet in one of their PUBLICALLY open buildings. We pay a heavy bill, but we are in one of Warren's public buildings (the community center).

There is a huge problem with the places you mentioned, they are predominatly Muslim, huge difference between Christainity and Muslim. This country was founded on Chrisianity. Are comparing the beliefs of muslims to Christians?
The problem with that is Christians will not cut off your head if you don't join em
Christans reguard their wives as equals not dogs to cover up and abuse, beat and also kill.
You can go to one of these countries and try your equality on them and see how far it gets you.
To your amazement you may find yourself not welcome and you would see how intolerant they would be to your beliefs and probably get your head cut off.
You may find Christianity offence to you but as Christians, they would allow you to keep your head and not be offended as you bash us. Tolerent would't ou say.
Try to promote something different as far as religion or no religion and see how far it gets you in any other non-Christian country
I'd say we have it very good here-USA. But we have people saying or crying foul or unfair, what about me? I don't believe in it so you should not teach it or tell nobody as it may offend others.

I should rent space in the parking lot and put the abortion bus out there....

Then rent space inside and give away right to life stuff.....

How about the baby killer in Colorado that was shot and killed, and now his execution shop is closed.

Its a little different when somebody fights back.....

I look at that as a doctor abortion...

Shouldn't be no big thing....

Out of context or not it sounds to me like I read you right. As for the atheists and the towel heads (and the christians for that matter) I could give a crap what they believe and what they want to get together and chant about.

Where people get such a fear of god and religion I guess I don't understand. If you don't want to buy into it you don't have to. It's quite simple.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

As far as I'm concerned those are the rules along with whatever the city of warren decides to require in order for these people to unfold a table under their roof. If they're not disturbing the peace, STFU and GTFO and mind your own goddam business (to the "atheist/agnostic whatever group who is complaining.)

We are loosing our freedom everyday,No mater what the argument there is always going to be someone that takes the other side.

We as a country just need to get back to square one and rebuild and stop trying to please everyone who has a new idea

as for the prayer booth, they need more of them for all religions The people of the world need to dig deep and grab life by the horns
