Default shortest tcase.

picking up a jeep this weekend with chevy drivetrain. it has a 208 in it right now and rear shaft is really short. are there any shorter chevy cases that are a pass side drop that will bolt to a 700r4?

then good luck. i'd stick with the 208 and if it doesn't have one already get a slip yoke eliminator kit. that will help with the rear driveshaft problem by reducing stress on the t-case output. these people make a kit for it. http://www.high-impact.net/transmiss...se_sle_kit.htm

They also make a NP 241 that you can gat an SYE and a 4:1 kits for later if you want. I just sold 1 a couple months back for $250 for that very reason. The guy needed more real estate between the output shaft and the rear diff.
90-91 burbs had them.

Add the length of the adapter required to the Dana 20 before choosing it over the Dana 300 that already has the NP bolt pattern.

I don't think there is a 4.1 gear set for the Chevy passenger side drop Np-241 case.
