Default Caught some nice perch today.

caught about 48 of these little beauty's off the Projects in Ludington. Went out for Salmon but the only thing biting was perch. Lake Michigan Perch are MUCH bigger than inland Perch, do they have the same size limit(7")? Guess what I am eating for dinner.

i dont think those are whitefish. for sure not perch. a couple have eyes like a walleye, but not the top center dorsal fin. looks alot like a sauger. should be real tasty either way.

They are Walleye. My dad and I caught them on Saginaw bay. landed a total of 21 fish from 6am-2pm, kept 10(limit 5 per person). The third one in from the left was the biggest, caught him on a jet diver with a purple and chartreuse glow spoon. hit a couple more on spoons but bronze and chartreuse crawler harnesses took the rest. We used downriggers and bottom bouncers and trolled at just under 1 mph in 35-40 foot of water. Today was problably the best day I have ever seen on the bay, ZERO wind and lots of sun.

Don't think they are walleye. At least the ones we have caught look nothing like that.

we live in pentwater, a 10 minute drive in the boat from the ludington hydro electric dam. We left pentwater at 230 this morning, drove to standish and went fishing. we almost did go out on lake MI when we got home, but 8 hours on the bay was enough for us. I was just trying to pull some legs with the original post.

they way they are laid out i could not see the upper center dorsal fin. a dead giveaway for walleye. i knew a few of the eyes looked glassy though. i thought they were sauger for sure.
awesome catch. i cooked some last weekend. congrats
