yeah pete c look at the issue and stop playing the blame game. It says it on the money we trade and the country was founded on the statement "IN GOD WE TRUST" not anybody else. That is why this country is in the shape it is in,all the little spineless sissys that are followers and can't stand strong for what they believe in. But I guess if you dont have Jesus in your heart then you would need to reach for false hope. I have no problem with any religion as long as they believe in doing what is right. Not hurting those who are not with them. I think that any group should be allowed in that space as long as they are promoting good things for all.

Grab life by the horns on your own. Make up your own mind that you are going to be an upstanding person and follow common law. Make up your own mind that you are going to be the best you can be.

You don't need the crutch of religion to do that.

Once you have found youself, then if you want, go find a path that suits you.

Personally I have found my path in life without the help of religious dogma. May not work for everybody, but it has worked for me.
If you mean that the crutch is Jesus Christ well I would hope that He is my life boat because without Him I can do nothing.
where do think that the common law and upstanding person( good morals) came from? Most try to do what is right and follow rules. Why does it bother you when somebody adds Christianity to the mix? This country was founded on Christianity. Are you offended by Christians and what they stand for?

As I don't live in Warren and it doesn't sound like any other groups rights are being violated I don't have any problem with it. If the city of Warren feels that renting out space in it's city hall to groups within the community to spread their message is what it wants to do and doesn't pick and choose which to allow thats up to them. They can do whatever they want in their city hall.

Now if I lived in Warren I would be concerned that they are setting themselves up for one heck of a ride down the slippery slope ending in a chaos in city hall and a big lawsuit costing tons of taxpayers money.

Why do you insist on implying I am somehow offended by Christians or Christianity?

I am offended by evil done in the name of any religion, period. It had happened throughout history.

Inquisition......look it up.

I can do anything I want without "Jesus Christ". If you feel the need to have him in your life, that is your choice.

Once again I ask why I am the blind one since you need Jesus to do anything (your own words quoted above).

As far as morals and common law coming only from God, I can not accept that and won't. Using Gods name to explain the reason for a law is an ancient practice that goes back to a time long before Christianity.
Also, there are still people in this world who have until recently had no contact with any "civilized" people yet they still seem to be able to come up with fair common laws and good morals that fit their culture.

No, I am not offended by your beliefs. Enjoy them. Not all agree and not all ever will.

Back on topic, again I think City Hall should remain for City business, keep all special interests out. (that is in respect to Kiosks)

And Brewmenn is right, sooner or later they will go down the slippery slope of the legal system. Just wait till the KKK wants to set up a kiosk, or the Aryans, or the Black Panthers, or a GLBT organization. Oh, that would be precious, a gay organization next to a Catholic prayer booth.

OK, I changed my mind, let them set up, let them all set up. I will be there for the fireworks.

No where to turn? I am sure anyone can find a church if they open thier eyes and that is what they want.

A nation with one official religious belief system...............Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, China, Russia of old. Are you not asking the U.S. to join this list?
Of course! just like when the muslims got footwashing stations at UofM

i have a gun in church because of colorado, and i get paid for it..

i dont see what the big deal is, if i opened a KINKY SEX HERE booth in city hall and it complied with the orders and mandates in the contract, whos to tell me i cant do it..
prime example is www.xxxchurch.com they set up a booth in national porn conventions and are allowed to do it. so who are you to complain.. go buy the space and put up ignorant posters saying crap like Jews killed jesus, my other poster is an honor student at.. , or jesus is bad.
who cares. its their money. think of it like a big bulletin board

what kind of slippery slope?

what kind of lawsuit?

I called Mayor Fout's office yesterday and asked them not to bow down to some angry atheists and to keep up the good work. I also told them that if they needed backing I would show up with a few hundred in support.

the slippery slope that has a Muslin group also requesting space, followed by a Jewish group, and a Hindu group, and a white supremest group, and a black power group, and a gay rights group, and pro life and pro choice and on and on until you can't conduct business with the city without having to run the gauntlet of people trying to convince you that they have the answer to your troubles. Kinda like the money changers in the temple only in reverse.

And then the first group to be denied space, or the first person to claim to be offended sues and the whole mess ends up in court.

Oh come on Bruce, that would never happen, would it?

Hey, as long as the local church can get their prayer quota for the day, it's ok.

Sounds like the City can now charge less taxes because the money will be coming from a new source!

All they would have to do is a daily rotation, one booth per day. Therefore, not slippery.

They money changer example would fit if only false religions were in there.
