Is this our new badge of honor? Can I get Casino Cash?

Are we talking about someone traveling down a closed road?
Or are we talking trashing a virgin meadow?

Advise them of how to wheel legally, let them remove their illegal wheeling pics and learn from a mistake . If they take up the "F-you, I wheel illegally and will not stop" attitude, turn over all known pics, names, etc. to the DNR and ban them.

A person that KNOWINGLY chooses to break the law should not be welcome amongst a group that seeks to maintain legitimacy or foster working relationship with the lawmakers.

I didn't vote because I didn't see something that I could take seriously that I agreed with. But........... I pretty much agree with this. The down side to that hard of a stance is that this is not an official organization with by laws, rules, membership, etc. It's a social message board where Kelly is dictator.

If illegal wheelers are caught, you can teach them a life long lesson using only a bag sand, a jar of Vasoline, and about 3 minutes of rectal penetration.

If they are tearing things up and its your property or your neighbors, ask them to fix it and then be on their way. If they say f-you, call the police/dnr and make sure you get can describe the vehicle/license plate. Going out of your way to call the cops on someone is like tattle-tailing.

Agree with trying to educate them first in a private way. If that doesn't work, let them know that they are being turned over to the DNR.

Posting pics only gives those trying to close trails and public lands more ammunition to use against us. For us to provide that to them is a bad idea.

With legal wheeling areas being closed daily throughout the country, it should be everyone's business to help police our own.

Poaching trails does not cause legal trails to close.
Your friends, relatives and neighbors who believe motorized "thrill craft" have no business leaving a paved highway do.
Saying that illegal wheeling causes trail closures is ludicrous. We are going to keep losing access to public land until we can make a viable argument and go on the offensive. Michigan is a good example of land and trail access pushed back so far for so long to the point that you people think it is the norm. You see a pic of a jeep crossing a stream and you want to call DNR with plate numbers. Off road trails in other states crossing streams and creeks are quite common. It really is no big deal.

Remember the "the solution to pollution is dilution".

Instead of ratting out some guy for poaching a dirt road, put that much effort into ragging on the district ranger to open logging roads.

The opinion here are my own, no roads were driven on in an erosive manner in the composition of this post.

Going to have to respectfully disagree with you XXXJ. Have seen forums that are not wheeling forums posting pictures of illegal wheeling and calling for the closure of all public land to our use, due to what they have seen.

Yes, you are correct that those who believe we should never leave the paved road are a grave concern. However, when we knowingly create damage illegally, then we are just giving them the evidence they need to present to the law makers.

This creates the land closures.

Creating damage on legal or illegal trails harms our cause.

My point was we need to go offensive.

I started wheeling when sex was good and drugs were bad. It was a means to access hunting, fishing, ghost towns, hot springs and such. It was not fourwheeling for fourwheeling sake. Okay, sometimes. Now people go off-roading just to go off-roading. I understand that. When they stay on established roads and trail, damage (if you can call it that) is negligible. It is the difference between conserving the land for everyone to use, or preserving the land for no one to use. But there is a powerful lobby that want to end it. All of it.
Everytime there is a closure, it opens the door to another closure. It will never end until we start getting some openings. being decided by some fat fukc sitting in front of the trinitron saying "they don't need to be doing that, it contributes to global warming".

Maybe ratting them out will help on an individual basis, but lambasting publicly hurts all of us. Because no matter how much we condem it, our enemies lump us together. It is not noble policing of ourselves, it is "cutting off our nose despite our face".

But on the other side .... it didn't say nothin!
Now that side was made for you and me!

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin'
If this land's still made for you and me.

I have to say I have sat in the orv meeting in lansing while the dnr discused illegal use. they made huge examples of areas the locals had been using for years. the idea that they thought they could effectively close them was a laugh. the one system they showed had miles of trail coming and going out of a old sand pit. if they spent the money to close it it would have been millions. they would have been farther ahead to just post it open then take in the money it would generate.

by the way its never been closed down yet and its 3 years later...

i agree. give us the local spots or let us buy them. there is so much open land in mi. yet we have to drive hours to go wheeling.
