Default Knee brace.

I have a torn ACL

I have a bunch of stuff to do for the next couple months and can't get it fixed until aug or sept.

I want to find a knee brace that will help my knee out until I can have surgery.

anyone have some old ones from past injuries? what do you have?

I'm not looking for the cheapo ones you can find at walmart or pharmacies. something like these would be preferred.

(maybe not the color scheme on the last one)

let me know what you have and how much your looking to get.

thanks.

I guess I should have put size. most braces i've seen I would be large or XL

my thigh 6 inches up from my knee is approx 21 inches and my calf is approx 16 inches.

thanks.. I plan on being very careful, I do however need to do some biking and would like a brace that is good and gives me a lot of range of motion.

I want to get the brace so I don't hurt anything more/else.

thanks.

dont know what your doctor told you but i went about 3 years with a torn ACL and didnt know it. so in that time i wasnt exactly easy on my knee. i'm just warning you cause a torn meniscus pretty much means a knee replacement at some point in your life. a torn ACL can be repaired with no problems.

I wear these very day at work. They do a pretty damn good job of limiting motion and not letting me over do it. Might be something to consider.

You can also wear them under a pair of pants too if needed without even knowing they are there.

Wow, that's the same thing that happened to me. I ended up riding for almost another month before I realized something was still wrong after my knee slipped out from under me. After a second look, sure enough my ACL was torn. My miniscus was actually jammed into the center of my knee and at first they were going to just completely remove it. But they ended up digging it out and sewing it back together in place, but they couldn't guarantee anything and said I have a high likelihood of needing a knee replacement in the future.

But as far as the braces go, I would definitely look into the Asterisk brace. And after your surgery, try getting a prescription and get yourself a CTi2 brace. They're as good as they get. Good luck.
