the only thing I'm thinking of doing to it as painting it. but I may not even do that. I'm OK with the purple. if I find I have a lack of projects this winter I may paint it just for something to keep me busy.

Bought an 05 450x the other night. Put new bars and bark busters on and gave it a good cleaning last night.

There is a compromise between sport bikes and cruisers. They are called standards or nakeds, you should check them out before going with one or the other.

I think my bike will go up for sale this winter/spring. I went from riding 1500 miles/month to 1000-1500 a year. The economics if keeping it around do not make sense anymore.

Economics? I don't care if I only put 1000 miles a year on mine its still the cheapest transportation I've ever owned.

Paying full coverage on a bike I don't ride anymore is dumb.

I'm on the road for work 2-3 weeks a month, when I'm home I just want to see my kid and I can't do that out on the bike.

Full coverage on mine is $300 a year... oh well, you got the kid.
I used to be on the road 6 days a week, so I kinda get that. I lived with my parents because there was no point in moving out.

There's still time, if you get the ad up ASAP. I just sold a sporty last weekend. I was at the point where I was thinking I wouldn't need to put it back in the garage and wait until spring.

If you sell it and decided you want another bike sometime, you should check out some other types. Riding the sportster was fun, but it was not that much fun after 80-100 miles.

Do you still have the RD? Get that thing fixed, then you have a bike that you can ride, not have full coverage on, and not feel like you have a bunch of money into something that just sits in the garage.
