Default ...SOLD... 85 Toyota 4X4 Mud Truck ...SOLD...

I have for sale a 1985 Solid Axle Fuel Injected Extended Cab Toyota 4x4. I'm not thrilled about listing this, but I hardly ever use this truck anymore so I figure I might as well see if anyone else can get some use out of it.

This truck is an off road only truck. It has really nice 38" x 14.5"x 15" Super Swamper SX's up front, and really nice 38"x 14.5"x 15" Super Swamper Boggers in the rear. It has a 5" All-Pro Offroad suspension lift in the front as well as a complete "High Steer" system from All-Pro Offroad. Both items were installed last winter and are still like new. The stock 4 cyl motor, 5 speed manual tranny, and transfer case all run great and mechanically everything is in good shape. The frame is in rough shape just behind the cab on the passenger side which is pretty common. I put a band-aid on probably 10 years ago and it's been holding well but it looks ugly. The truck is still drivable, but some welding skills could go a long way with the frame on this truck. I use this truck primarily for local mud runs, which it actually does pretty well at... This truck is ready to go and really doesn't need anything if all you want to do is play in the mud or trails. There are a lot of other modifications to the truck such as snorkle, external fuel tank, electric fan, roll bar, locker in the rear axle and welded up front, etc...

Asking $1,900

If you have any interest or questions feel free to contact me anytime. Email is sr522re@yahoo.com , or you can leave a message on my cell at 616-283-2440. You are also welcome to come check it out at the next local mud run here in West Michigan. Check out www.unemployedfilms.com for more details on that.

Thanks,

Chris

Not really interested in trades at this time. I don't need to sell the truck, I just thought I'd make some more room around the house by selling it since I only use the truck maybe 4 times a year... Too many toys as it is... Thank anyways!

Well I wouldn't say it can't, but I would say it can't safely or legally. There are no blinkers, the rear brakes don't work. It has 38" tires with stock 4:10 gearing so driving around in high range would be difficult. There are probably many other reasons as well that I can't think of.

This truck has been built mainly for playing in the mud. I have never used this as a daily driver so I haven't worried about keeping it street legal. For the past 7 years or so I have only used this truck at local mud runs, most of which require me to drive the truck a total of about 60 seconds before loading it back up on a trailer till the next mud run. I drive this truck around in 4low all the time. In first gear, 4low, this truck is awesome. There is plenty of power and with the large tires the gearing is great for the mud. The motor never gets bogged down and I'm always able to keep spinning the tires. Because of it's light weight, this truck really goes through the mud. I often beat out the larger vehicles with 5 times the horse power. (Sorry guys, but you know it's true. )

This truck will make anyone a great mud or trail truck. It runs great, but looks ugly. If anyone is looking for a truck they can drive down the highway before hitting the trails this is not for you. I have a really nice car trailer I'd be willing to sell with it if interested, but I'm not pushing the sale of just the trailer. What this truck is best for is the parts. The motor runs excellent, the 5 speed tranny shifts smoothly, the transfer case shifts and works great, the axles are in great shape, the suspensions and steering is like new, not to mention the tires alone are worth about $800 with the aluminum wheels.

I don't have to sell this, I just thought I'd see what interest I can drum up. If it doesn't sell then I'll just keep running it till it does break. When it breaks I'll end up parting it out probably or using the parts to build another one.

The truck is located in Zeeland, and if anyone is interested in taking a look at it sometime just let me know. You can also see it at "Dad's" mud run next month. I placed 2nd last month and 1st the run before that. It's a lot of fun, I'm just losing the time to enjoy it...

Did this answer your question? Sorry about that!

Thanks,

Chris

Good question... I wasn't really planning on selling the trailer, but I would say I'd sell the package for around $3,400. The trailer is really nice. It's an 18 footer with a dove tail. So 16 ft flat with a 2ft tail. I also have nice steel ramps that are stored in the side of the trailer. It has a nice diamond plate tool box on the front as well. The trailer also has electric brakes. I've attached a picture of the package minus the Tundra.

The problem is, if I sell the trailer I may have to replace it someday so it's hard to let it go... Money makes the world go around though...

If interested, just let me know.

Thanks,

C

How's the Tundra do pulling that? The trailer is pretty light though I bet. Maybe 5k truck and trailer total?

I would love to have a Toyota to pull my Toyota with

The Tundra does real well actually. I can do 70 mph down the freeway without much concern. The electric brakes on the trailer are awesome. It's nice knowing they are there when you need them. I'd say 5K is real close truck and trailer combined. If you notice, I had two 50 gallon barrels that were full of water in the bed of the Tundra. That sure adds the weight. I use the water to power wash the truck off after a mud run. The whole set up is pretty nice I'd say. It's worked well for me...

Thanks,

Chris
