Default np 205 case filling up with tranny fluid

I change the front seal on my transfer case and when the oil came out it was red with a gear lube smell. What is the best answer to this problem? Is there a seal that i can change without getting right into the transmission or should i just let it go and keep and eye on the the tranny fluid. It is a turbo 350 tranny. thanks eric

there is no seal in the back of the trans. You probably messed the input shaft seal when you installed it. that or your bolt holes aren't sealed from the adapter to the tcase and the fluid is seeping in from there. Also check that the vent tube or nipple isn't plugged. Run a wire in it. and blow some air in it. If it is plugged it could be vaccuuming the fluid out of the trans due to pressure buildup releaase.

The seals in the transfer case adapter are bad. Pull the adapter off and take out the spud shaft, there will be two seals, one for trans and one for transfer case.

when I put my combo together I got a double lip seal, got it from Quad 4x4

Mine is a TH400 though, and I think like Oldheep said, you'll have 2 seals in the adapter - Quad 4x4 will have those too
