Actually after the first 50 or so pages, the actual bid spec diagrams & pics look pretty darn good. Let's hope they follow through with it.

x2!! I like how they're spec'ing in some height to it, too, not just completely flat...

Since I moved to my current residence (15 minutes from the Mounds), I have not been there because just playing in the mud all day doesn't interest me. I like technical driving, not pedal to the floor and hope I make it through, otherwise get winched out. If this gets completed I would be there multiple times a week easily!

Interesting. Like I said it's been awhile. I think at least 2 years now. Maybe I'll head out there today depending on the weather.

There are plenty of places in the woods that are not just mud and pedal to the floor...

I've gone back in the woods before and I must have gone after a rain storm or something because that is all I remember. I mean there were some tight trails back there in the woods yes, but all mud. I was only there for about 5hrs though so I'm not sure how much exploring actually got accomplished, especially with a radiator caked with mud I kept overheating.

well the good thing is they have "prints" to build buy, so if its not right i would assume they wouldn't have to pay in full.

I just don't see anything about a nice gravel road to get to the rock area, which i would like to see.

I know stage 3, whenever it happens, had spectator area and a secondary parking lot, I think. Maybe they'll improve the path then. Its not terrible to get there, though.

I'm sure if there's a gravel road, the got mud boys will find a way to rut it all to hell, anyway..

i would rather they didn't put a road. it would just end up being a wast of money after the b.d.m.t's tare it up.

When i was there the last time (May ~15), you couldn't actually get to rocks very easily, Mud, Huge ruts, etc. It sucked. Wasted a lot of time getting stuck when it could have been better spent avoiding trees.

I bet rowe gets this one too.

The only thing I dont like is the large window with the minumum spec'd out. if they build to the lower 1/3 of the window it's going to suck. If they build to the upper 3/4 of the design then it'll be pretty close to what the proposed #2 level should be.

Did any one catch the approved substitute for the horizontal logs? pipe!?

I want shot crete!
