You dont even own this thing anymore and its STILL giving you ulcers.

The motor may only have 20k on it, but remember, all the sensors and injectors still have 200k on them. Crank position sensor maybe? Any codes at all?

Better question is it carburated, tpi, tbi, or efi; if its carburated, here your case.....

it sounds like your first problem is your carbuerator, has the motor been sitting for awhile??? Your plugs being wet comes from either your float(s) in your carb not being set right or your simply pumping it way more than needed to start. It deisels because your in need of a needle and seat, the needle (I believe) has prolly a groove from sitting or is just in need of a change. Next off is the timing, it may be off on the distributor, and needs tweaking.

Bad gas i believe would allow the motor to run but very poorly, might want to take a gander at a new fuel filter also

did it throw a code the last time it did run? if so then a code scanner will be able to fine out what it is. both the crank and cam sensor can cause a no start. i forget which is more important of the 2.

This thing has had a dead miss that comes and goes like a light switch for years, on BOTH engines (original and the crate). Its definitely a sensor.

I'm thinking the nock, maf,and air temp sensor is all that is left. next time I'll start thare. what about the computer? do thay go bad? and injectors can thay be to blame? still loking for a anser Y but for now it is runing.

I used to rap on the computor with my knuckles if the engine stumbled then it had a bad board. washboard roads play hell on this.

Also check your fuel pressuere. The vortec engines dont like to run if the pressure it below a set pressure (50-60 PSI) i forget. Its been a while.

Dont think it will be this but my grandmas truck wouldnt start. getting spark and fuel. Turn out to be the coil was jumping causing it not to run. but she also had a engine light last time she drove it befor it quit.

the only coed that come up from time to time is P-0134 (O2 bank 1). Some time it has a mis at idlie and if you look at the tip you can see litile black puffs. I'm thinking injetor sticking but 8 injetors are $550. Thats to much to jest try.

but for know its still running. running to good it blu out the mid shift baring today

just re-reading through, did you ever run any GM top engine cleaner through this engine before? if not I suggest it. I am wondering if its so carboned up its causing the miss.
