Pretty cool! I saw some articles on it when it was released at E3. The Wii was looking at using this same setup, but they said it was not reliable enough.

The video was just a demo to show what it could be like... Look up some of the other vids from E3.... It has a long way to go but the technology is cool.

I can see it now,

Said owner starts complaining about the in-laws and turns around to see them on the tv, due to voice activation.

or better yet you leave the room with your date still sitting on the couch and your other night romance calls.

technology isn't always that sweet.

Meh, I'll stick with the Wii. The genius of the Wii is the controller itself, and having a physical controller to hold is helpful for little kids.

Nintendo had considered camera based motion control... but this is completely different hardware, software, etc. It's not anything close to being the "same setup", but they had considered a similar idea.

Shit, they had motion control for PS2 using the Eyetoy Camera. They've gotta be getting somewhere with the technology by now.

I just know that (at least my experience with both), I can get far far better accuracy with g-force sensors, than I can with visual recognition stuff. Stuff like Mario Kart, where you do very fine adjustments of the controller position. What if you are sitting in a position that the camera can't see you good?
