Default Red Bull Air Race

Coming to Detroit this weekend, who's going? I think I am going to go for sure this year. I wanted to go last year but couldn't.

Any of you go last year? How crowded was it? Did you have a good time?

Its not coming to Detroit. its coming to Widsor this year because Detroit sucks.

I went last year. It was pretty good, but the weather fucked up the first day. Pylons kept blowing over, etc. Get there early for a decent seat, or you'll be too far back and under the trees.

I was there last year on Saturday when the wind caused it to be canceled. x2 on getting there early. I wish I could go again and actually see it.

Yes Mr. Technical, they are coming to Windsor, but there is still seating being sold from their site in Detroit. Sure the planes will be on the Windsor side, but whatever, I just want to see the races, not go to the pits.

Thanks for the advice on the seating. I was really wondering how packed it will get.

So you can still view it from "our side"???? Not familiar with the area.

If you don't have tickets yet, you will likely get them in the less desirable sections. Get there early and head as close to the center of the action, and as close to the river as you can get.

Still showing general admission in all but on section and the two middle sections are still open, so it seems OK so far. Who knows though. Thanks!

Went last year for the qualifying only, and just got to see pylons blow over. Waste of a day. I also got shit on by a bird.

I wish I could go this year, but I didn't hear about the dates until a week ago (didn't bother searching) and I have other shit going on this weekend.

They aren't "showing" it on our side. No screens, sound, etc. "See it" is all you'll literally be able to do.

No, the planes won't be in the Windsor side. Do you think they block off a street to use as a runway? The planes won't be anywhere near the course. They take off and land at the airport miles away.

Oh for fucks sake, do you just get off on picking someone's post apart. I am not fucking retarded. I know the fucking planes are not landing on the street and that they use an airport. Jesus Christ.

My point is that there isn't (and wasn't last year, either) a "pit" for you to visit when you go there.

You will anchor in the correct spot. The coast guard will not allow you not to.

Just watch out for douche bags that dont know how to anchor. We were almost hit 3x by the same boat last year. We ended up saying fukc it, and pulled anchor and went to jacks.

Actually, there is a "pit" that you can go and see. I don't think they would be selling tickets to it if there wasn't. Its located at Windsor International Airport. So the planes WILL actually be on the Windsor side.

The more you know
