Default another comcast rant.......

So last week I'm re-edging along the flowerbed & think I'm hitting a root. Nope, it's the underground comcast cable that's literally 1" under the surface & I break the casing. So we call & tell them that we still have service but we need someone to come fix the break. We specifically request that they call before they come and we are assured they will. So today my wife gets home from work and finds they have come and gone & trampeled the shit out of her flowers and run the cable in the wrong area. So, she calls the number they left and tells them to come back and fix it right. She bitches them out for trampeling the flowers and they apologize.

So now I turn on the game and my hi-def signal is fubared. It keeps going out. I go outside to see what's up and discover they changed around fittings and fucked with the cable down the whole side of my house. (about 50 ft worth) They switched the cables around that go to the TV and the modum, added a little 2 foot jumper and generally spent a whole bunch of time screwing around with stuff that they had no reason to do. I started to call them again to demand they come back out but I'm afraid I will spend the whole evening yelling at these guys and missing the game.

Anybody know a Comcast supervisor I can bitch to?

They "persuaded" my wife into getting a phone line. When they came out to install I left for the gym. After I got home I grabbed my laptop. Apparently they needed to check somethin on the web for the phone line. The SOB fucked with all my settings. It took me about 20 minutes to undo the shit he changed and installed on my laptop.

The sound on mine is cutting out like crazy right now and called and talked to someone and they can't do anything but of course it stopped while I was on the phone and now that I'm off the phone it started doing it again.

I have WOW internet, and I run linux on all but the crap living room computer.


It's fun watching their "tech" trying to install a windows app on a linux box....

Concast service (both the cable and customer service) were so awful I wouldn't have it if it were free.

Yep. Sucks doesn't it? When we first moved here we had nothing at all :-(

I checked with my pops to see if he knew the names of anyone that doesn't suck. He said he just talks to whatever A-hole answers the phone and quickly makes it up the chain to someone that can give him the answers that he would like to hear. I often hear these words, "that is not going to be an acceptable solution ma'am, I'd like to talk to the person that can offer me something more reasonable"

Generally it's are chat about how long they are going to take to get someone out here. It starts out with 3-4 days out and by the time he gets off the phone, someone is on their way or coming first thing in the morning.

Be glad they even buried the cable, several times I have seen them just leave it laying on the lawn. The left a cable unburied almost all summer one year until one of the landscapers got pissed off and cut the cable in half so they would come out and fix it, then told the association it got caught in the mower because it was hidden in the grass. I tore up one with a sod cutter once, not even an inch in the ground, comcast decided to call MSDigg and they showed up and made us stop work.
Yah, the techs suck.

haha they left one on top of the grass at my neighbors... they left it there for so long we just zipped tied it tight to the bottom of the chain link fence.

when i live in grand rapids i had comcast tv and internet, the kid they sent to hook it up drilled a hole in my floor for the cable instead of a wall jack, didnt know how to hook up hd componet video was on the phone have the time trying to figure it out. finally i just said gimmie and hooked it up myself. oh and they never buried the the stupid cable either.

i now have att and dish network, im happy with that

Been with Comcast for a long time. Never had any serious issues with them.

I have found their service to be fairly reasonable. Usually show on time. Do a good job and clean up. Funny, most of the techs we get are black gentlemen that are very polite and knowledgable.

AT&T is now available, but in looking at what they offer, the prices are about the same. (except the DVR which I think is coming soon).


Is Comcast perfect? No way, but then neither are the other services out there.

I was talking to a friend last night who has the dish. He says it really sucks. Clear view of the sky but it goes wacky any time the wind blows hard, or it rains, or it snows, etc.

We have overhead cables, so no worries about how they are buried.
