To bad there wasnt a way to have a private post for trail rides so they dont know where
your going to be. The USFS needs to finish there maps so we know where we can drive. They say sometime after this fall they will have a map.
here is an article about that if you havnt read it yet http://www.mlive.com/outdoors/index....trucks_in.html

I have contacted the USFS about maps and education on where we can drive many times and never got any response from them.

This really sickens me. We ended up not going at the last minute due to knowing it would be incredibly dusty out there and did not want the 2 day headache from breathing that much dust again.
I read the article in the link from Trail_fanatic and his prediction is true. How they can ticket now - educate later, read these threads and lay in waiting for us to get out there, and have a conscience, knowing there are not maps and a lot of the trails are not properly marked. We are all trying to play by the rules, but when the rules are not published, what are we supposed to do? Some of the trails they block, their digging is far more damaging than us rolling around out there in 2nd gear at an idle.
Really sorry to hear about this guys.

If they want to set up traps for all of us by reading our post and waiting at two tracks I say we just start posting Phony trail ride trips all over the place and let them sit in the woods and waste their time waiting for people who are never going to show up!

Need to find the crank sensor too... this motor is suposed to have one, but where the fukc its at is beyond me.
It's on the back of the block right where the tranny meets it, on the top, pass side. I think a couple 8 or 10 MM bolts hold it on. It just plugs in with a little 6" pigtail and plug. It picks up the position from the flywheel.

It was great meeting and riding with everyone last night. That storm was awesome!!!! I can't believe that I didn't get totally soaked!!!

I hope that things go well with fighting those tickets. If you bring in the pics you posted in the other thread, I'd be amazed if you had to pay. Especially if you make it known that you are part of the trail clean-up each year on that very trail.

So much for the grace period that Les mentioned in the press ad. Ha!
Without maps or any kind of heads up, how can this stand up in court?
I didn't want to go, as I sort of did a pre-run of the area previous to the cleanup last year and didn't see much to offer, granted that was without a local.

Perhaps in the future, all should be communicated by PM after a brief decoy description? I think the brownshirts and Rangers will be out full force for the fourth, and they have added many, as I was approached 4x by NFS within 30 hrs. It was always in pairs, a trainee along.
I'm just going to stick to familiar ground til fall?

Yeah that is true, but the way it all happened made it seem that they were waiting for it.

yep they was waiting for us, as they were waiting for us up in Baldwin on the White cloud run, but we just never made it that far.
I always welcome them to come up, as we were wheeling legally, it is just unfortunate that they say they are there to help and prevent damaged to the Forrest, yet with knowing the meeting place and being invited to ride along, so to speak to ensure we are riding legitimate, they decline the invitation to meet up at the beginning to perhaps go over certain rules or routes for the evening, instead set up a type of sting operation out in the middle of the woods.
Then they didn't wait to talk to anybody that what the hell they were talking about about were we were and when asked themselves where we were they could not answer no could they even tell us which trail to fellow out, as all they could say was "if it looks legal then it is ok" , or " just stay on Liderman"

Then as per the article, the one year education period is for when the new trail map comes out this fall. Now they are just cracking down on the punks that go out there and tear everything up out in the Forrest. Which I'm glad they are doing as it ruins it for us, as you can see. For an extreme example... On the news you hear of a murder, but you don't hear about how 10 people were saved that day. This is what we have here, a stereotype that were fighting against as 4x4 wheelers, it has been a long process in the making, which is way this new map is going to be so good for us to help break down the places to ride. As well as these tickets which were received, will give us a way to get it front of the judge and let them see that something needs to be done.

Again about these tickets or the situation, this is why see clubs like the Two Trackers doing clean ups, to show were not just punks in the woods tear stuff up but people who care about the woods as well. Then have the Great Lakes Four wheel Drive Association who are there to help get the trails open and to help educate people as well as to avoid situation like this, another great organization that can use all the support it can get as they help you weather no it or not. Then as well as the national organization of the United 4 Wheel Drive Association, as it is just not our state that deals with type of thing. So they help fight for everyone as perhaps you want to go to Tennessee to ride around the back woods?, well they help to keep all the areas open to enjoy. I mean c'mon, it's like saying hey you can access the lake and swim, but you can't take the boat out on it.

It's a long fight, but we're making progress, we have set backs but we keep moving forward. So please lend your support where ever you can.
