Default i got pulled over

I was speeding. I was in the wrong. On the ticket it says I "violation of basic speed law, speed 45/40". What does that mean. He issued it for 5 over or what?. He was a nice officer and gave me a break. Just curious.

I know it probably means I'm a young douche bag who should have suprise buttsecks on this site. But what does it really mean

I thought general speed violation was when they didn't radar you, they could just tell you were way over the speed limit so they can't write it for more. I'm prolly wrong though

You were just a part of that Law Enforcement Departments "Fund Raising Program".
They don't know exactly what you did wrong, but they know that you did something close to being wrong, and that it's going to cost you some money to make up for that communities budget deficit.
You can thank the cut backs that Emperor Granholm is imposing on every community across the kingdom for this new behavior.

Ok, I'm going to get off my soap box and go watch Hee-Haw now.
Have a good evening.

I've received a Violation of Basic Speed law ticket before, it basically carries the about the same points as a 5-10 over speeding ticket, but the fine was higher on a "violation of basic speed law ticket" than a speeding ticket. But that was in Jackson County.

do you have this in writing?

If not, take the five over ticket. two points, and like $150 or so.

btw, i'm pretty sure you got a violation of basic speed law ticket and not a speeding ticket.

that 45/40 note is just a description of what you were doing, etc. Mine said "rollover"
