Default Seattle what to do there

Looks like I might be headed there for a few days soon. Anyone ever been there and have any special places that are must see? Not necessary to be big time all tourist things. Maybe some little bar or restaurant. Whatever. Ideas.

Go to Broadway. Fun shops, fun sex shops, and you get to people watch in the gay district which is ALWAYS entertaining!

I'm not a great help. I lived there all my life and avoided Seattle like the plague (and I even lived right downtown for a few years)

There are some great dessert places on Broadway though. And checking out the flagship REI downtown is pretty sweet. The Science Center, Aquarium, and EMP (Experience Music Project) are all pretty fun if you have time during the day. If you get over to the Freemont area, there's tons of bars to bar hop around. Cowgirls Inc is right downtown if you like scantily clad girls dancing on the bar all night and mechanical bull follies. Also a bunch of bars nearby.

If you find yourself out late in Pioneer Square area (say 1:00am and beyond), find one of the many hot dog vendors on the sidewalks stationed outside bars and get a Cream Cheese Dog w/ onions. It is truly a masterpiece of cuisine I've actually made trips stone sober just to get them!

Again if you have time during the day, Pike Street Market is world famous for a reason. Sure it's touristy a bit, but that place is awesome. Alki Beach is also a lot of fun if it's warm due to scantily clad rollerblading chicks and cool views back onto the city from across the water.

My wife and I have a friend who moved out there last year and we were planning to go visit this fall. While the wife and her friend are off doing woman things (cleaning her friend's kitchen, grocery shopping, and delivering babies I assume), I will need stuff to do so I have slowly been collecting information.

Here's an article that was in the Sunday edition of the NY Times a few months ago that had some good ideas: 36 Hours in Seattle.

If you like live music, radio station KEXP provides a good list of upcoming small-ish/independent shows going on in Seattle.

And don't forget to Ride the SLUT!

It was shear luck Been there many many times. Maybe the signs have been burned into my brain. Hey what is that ferry that you can take to the old historic military joint? I think it might be the Bremmington ferry? I thought that was kinda cool.

Bremerton ferry probably. But there certainly is no shortage of cool ferries out to the San Juan islands. Friday Harbor/Roche Harbor prolly being the most famous. The island they're on has a couple cool old military settlements.

I was just in Seattle last month, did some hiking and that was spectacular! Pikes market was very cool! And did a bunch of bar hoping but I have no idea the areas I was in, probably what Nuzzy is talking about. Traffic sucks balls though.

Go and check out the homeless. That is really the only thing that I remember from my trip up there.

Pikes Street Market, also allot of good bars downtown. Stay out of the tittie bars last time I was there (admittedly it has been awhile) there was a huge cover, non alcohol and the strippers don't touch you. Other then that the space needle is pretty cool, or you might hit a Mariners game.
