Default 87 Turbo 22rte 4Runner upgrade and maintenance.

My Best-man got a new job and relocated from INDY to South Carolina.
So I took his 87 Turbo 22rte 4Runner to to some badly needed maintenance and upgrade improvements.

Its also nice when someone else has done a large part of the work / documented - on
TTORA

Here is a nice pile of new parts that need to be replaced / upgraded.

- All ball joints in the suspension and steering
- All wheel bearings / Front and Rear
- Bilstein shocks
- Rear brakes will get a disc conversion
- removed LSPV
- Upgrade Turbo
- Add 2.5" piping, intercooler and recirculation bov
- 2.5" Stainless steel Downpipe / V-band clamps and Cat
- Other upgrades as well

So, We will start with replacing the shot POS little turbo Toyota put on it, and upgrading it with one of the many 7mgte Supra turbos we have floating around.
This one was rebuilt and only has about 2k miles of use on it.

And then Mr. Lenger at LENGERRACING went after it and did a Port match the Head/turbo manifold.

LENGER fabs up the IC pipes out the fender (where the tire will never touch it) to the front.

LENGER fab'ed up some new end tanks on my old IC.

I can't wait to see how more responsive the bigger turbo is with this flowing DP.
Anything has to be better then stock parts...

and some V-band clamp hotnes..

Next
4.88:1 R/P Diffs and a TruTrac Posi rear, and we have new wheel Bearings all around.
Disc Brake mods for the rear

All the Intercooler piping gets properly beadrolled by Lenger Racing.

Now to see how the old Toyota EFI system keeps up with the upgrades
