Default 89 ranger dying out

having a problem with my 89 ranger 2.9 5 speed. cold start it won't run for shit when you try and push the gas, it just dies. floored it has no balls it just won't rev past like 3000. once it runs for 5 mins it runs great. does have a slight dead spot off idle. what can it be? no codes thrown either

Start with checking fuel pressure.

i have an 89 bronco II that acted very similar. i cleaned the top end of the motor, ran some injector cleaner, replaced the fuel pressure regualtor and replaced the oxygen sensor. it runs great now. the o2 sensor made the biggest diference

can't find any vacuum leaks. oxygen sensor doesn't control the engine until it reaches operating temp so that can't be it. and whats the fuel pressure spec? i kinda doubt thats the problem as it only runs shitty when you first start it after it's been sitting for overnight. after not even 5 mins the problem goes away completely.

checked fuel pressure. 35-45 is the range it runs right at 35 idle 40 with vacuum line off. so thats ok. also noticed that now it will die out if you put any load on the engine. i started it up this morning and turned the wheel and it shut off. restarted no problem. i let the clutch up ever so slightly and it died again. once it heats up i can let the clutch up and get it rolling without putting my foot on the gas.
