Default 89 3.slo 4skinner won't start

I finally got time to put this thing back together and now it won't start. I bought it about 3 years ago yhen was too busy to fix, It ran great but after sitting it won't start without starting fluid then it will not keep running. I put a couple gallons fresh fuel in it but no help. My FSM is for 85 4runners. I am thinking it is probably fuel related but not sure where to start. I thought i heard the fuel pump for a few seconds when I 1st tried to start it but not since then. Anybody got any ideas?

Checked distributor cap looks like new. Motor and Trans were supposedly replaced with factory units 10K miles ago so it should. No fuel from pump anybody know if a fuel pump from a 22RE is the same? I have a couple of those around but one of those is has been sitting longer than this one. Last time I needed one it was $100 @ Autozone with a lifetime warranty.

They asked a pimp boys but some of those places ask about stuff when I know it doesn't matter. $135 w/1 year warranty. I am going to check a couple more places.

Try this... http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...fsm/index.html

If it starts with starting fluid, you probably have a plugged up cold start valve. It's the passenger side of the manifold. Pull it off and have someone try to start it with the coil wire disconnected. Look for a strong stream (sound like a prostate commercial...).

Two more culprits of bad idle are the air flow meter in the air filter box or the throttle position sensor. Both could be corroded or in the case of the AFM outright stuck shut.
