Default The Government, UAW taking over GM.......scares me

One thing I have come to realize on this board is that we for the most part have the same ideas. I also realize that our thoughts for the most part are becoming less and less what the American public as a whole thinks. That being said, the news of the government and the UAW running GM scares me. More so than when MochaJesus said that Rick Wagoner(sp) had to step down.

http://detroitnews.com/article/20090...s-game-changer

The bigger problem as I see it is that people just do not care anymore. Look around. It seems that parents do not care what trouble their kids get into, it is always the schools fault, or other people, but never their fault. The banking industry is another example, where they say it is not our fault that we gave people mortgages that they never could pay back, but we need more money to stay in business.

I hope that there are still enough people out there that care. If not, those that do are going to be in a world of hurt when the government makes up their mind on throwing out the Constitution. And, for the most part, people are not going to care.

UAW running GM? That would be awsome! I think you would see a huge change in attitude from the UAW and it's workers when they have to balance the checkbook.

most uaw officials are elected to their positions. that makes them politicians. so we'll have 2 sets of politicians running the autos. worst of all, they'll be in a positions of authority but will not want any of the accountability. can't wait to see how they'll blame things on management when they are sitting on the board.

Pogo, a comic strip character that went out of print sometime in i think the late 80's. kind of a mild form of "doonsebury" set in a swamp with swamp critters at the characters.

with the uaw and gov't in control can you imagine who's gonna have input on future vehicle design. all the greenies and gore-ites will call in their favors and have detroit designing baby buggy sized vehicles made out of stryofoam egg cartons running on fermenting alphalfa sprouts.

all vehicles will come from the bureaucrat transportation department. all vehicles will have a white finish with orange stripe on them. all vehicles will be adorned with generous images of obama. the airbags will be modeled after his ass. in the event of a crash your face will go right up it.

My statement is based on the attitude of many MANY UAW workers. I think if the UAW became directly involved with making the company profitable they would realize that paying somebody $30.00 for stuffing o-rings in a hole makes it hard to make money.
