DID YOU KNOW?
As you walk up the steps to the
building which houses the U.S Supreme Court
you can see near the top of the building a row
of the world's law givers and each one is
facing one in the middle who is facing forward
with a full frontal view ... it is Moses and he
is holding the Ten Commandments!

.
DID YOU KNOW?

As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the
Two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments
Engraved on each lower portion of each door.

DID YOU KNOW?

As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see
The wall, right above where the Supreme Court
judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW?

There are Bible verses etched in stone all
over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in
Washington , D.C.
DID YOU KNOW?

James Madison, the fourth president, known as
'The Father of Our Constitution' made the
following statement:

' We have staked the whole of all our political
institutions upon the capacity of mankind for
self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to
the Ten Commandments of God.'
DID YOU KNOW?

Every session of Congress begins with a prayer
by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid
by the taxpayer since 1777.

DID YOU KNOW?

Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the
Constitution were members of the established
orthodox churches in the colonies.

DID YOU KNOW?
Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would
overstep their authority and instead of
interpreting the law would begin making law
an oligarchy
the rule of few over many.

How then, have we gotten to the point that
everything we have done for 220 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and
unconstitutional?

Lets put it around the world and let the world
see and remember what this great country was
built on.

I was asked to send this on if I agreed or
delete if I didn't. Now it is your turn...

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.
Therefore, it is very hard to understand
why there is such a mess about having the Ten
Commandments on display or 'In God We Trust'
on our money and having God in the Pledge of
Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the other
14% to Sit Down and SHUT UP!!!

If you agree, pass this on

I did know! I also know the original intent for our country was to be a Country set up to mimick the Systems that God has put into place. Many of the founding Fathers believed that with out Religion AND Morals you could not have Freedom.

Quote:
"Statesmen, My Dear sir, may plan and spculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon which freedom can Securely stand"
(John Adams, "letter to Zabdiel adams, Philadelphia, 21 June 1776," The works of John Adams - Second President of the United States, ed.)

Interesting Website

Quote:
"The Only foundation for....a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all republican Governents"
- Benjamin Rush (Essays, Literary, Moral and Philosophical)

Quote:
"And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion...Reason and expierience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of Religious Principle"
- George Washington (The will of the people: Readings in American Democracy)

Quote:
Religion and Good morals are the only solid Foundations of public liberty and happiness
-Samuel Adams

Up intill the late 1800 children were taught from a book called "the New England premier". This book taught Exclusively Christian Morals and Lessons. The Way the children Learned the alphabet was through Stories in the bible. A = In Adams fall....
Most Ivy Leage Schools's first Mottos Were exclusively to educate and firther the kingdom of God through the Christian Church.

Harvards Original Motto
Quote:
Veritas Christo et Ecclesiae (Truth For Christ and the Church)
Harvards Rules and Precepts - 1636
Quote:
Let ever student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is, to know God and jesus Christ which is eternal life (John 17:3) and therefore lay Chrsit at the bottom as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and Learning
Princetons founding statement 1746
Quote:
Cursed is all learning that is contrary to the Cross of Christ
I've just started this Quest for knowledge on this subject. It Frustrates me to know end that we were not taught these kinds of things in School. At Least I wasn't. This is the TRUE history of our nation, weather it's politically correct or not, we should be taught what is the truth and not what has been manipluated by The now Twisted Educational system. At the same time I'm not surprised though. We live in a Country that is falling fast and it's because the System that was put into place by the founding fathers has been cripled by "Seperation of Church and state". Our Governmental System was maid to have God's Precepts as a moral compass to guide it. We no longer have that Compass and it's going down fast. I can only imagen what would have happened if we would have stayed true to our countries foundings and still used God as our compass. Our country would be 30 times more amazing that it already has been.

I don't believe in God, but it's what our country was founded on so I see no need for removal. It would be like tearing down ancient Rome because you don't believe in Zeus. I just live by the golden rule and it has served me well. I don't believe we "need" the presence of religion, but I know it helps keep some people on the straight and narrow. It helps some people and hurts nobody......doesn't sound bad to me.

DID YOU KNOW?

Our country was founded by religious extremists?

DID YOU KNOW?

The same criteria we use to designate Hamas a terrorist organization would, in effect, make George Washington and the Continental Army terrorists also?

Thats not entirely true...They werent extremists, they were Seperatists, the opinions they had differed with the Anglican church in minute ways. They were non violent, and didnt even protest because they were persecuted so heavily.

Also, terrorist organizations are just that, an organization that have no reputable Government to back them up. The Continental Army was an Army formed by a government that declared itself a independent nation, the Brits just refused to give it up.

Get your facts straight! Learn some history!!!

That sounds a lot like a current situation I've heard much about in the modern Middle East. Oh yea, it is almost exactly the same as Israel & Palestine. (Except for the part about how the IDF is millions of dollars and decades of technology ahead of anything Hamas could even dream of.)

Also, that was a surprisingly calm and reasonable response. I respect your point of view, but have to disagree.

Either way, it's the history of our country. Plus, things are different now and you can't put the same morals and ideas we have today on something that happened in the past and judge it fairly. You have to look at what the Morals were back then and understand the situtation from that cultures stand point and not your own......Just saying.

Read a book called the 5000 Year Leap. Great info on this topic. All of the info was pulled from letter by the founding fathers.
