May I ask why you chose to go coil spring vs leaf in the front since you were using a leaf spring axle? Just weighing my options since I also have a 78 Ford Dana 44 8 lug, but considering putting in leafs on my f150.

for articulation and quick height adjustment!
better ride (theoretically)
I didn't have the leafs, and I didn't really want to buy em either. I also couldn't make em!

Wow, I haven't updated in some time I guess. Better post some pics!

I finished the front axle, and it is installed.

Just for starters!

Changed the PS lines as well as many other things. Even got my new bumper installed!
Gettin ready for SnoFari!

Changed the front output of the t case to a flange so I can run a CV front driveshaft.

Made the old one into a spare for now using some parts I had laying around.

Old yoke

New yoke

Rear 8.8 yoke on old shaft end. I ground it down so I could weld it in nicely after I shortened the shaft.

This might be the best 92-96 F-150 build I've ever seen!

Great work

Looking at your front pinion angle in those last couple pics, I cant believe you have any castor. How does it drive?

funny you mention that...
The pinion angle is at 7 degrees where it sits. The axle is a custom cater is negative 2 degrees. been thinking about droppng the arms to get about 2 degrees of caster. but the pinion angle would suck at 3, so i will be rotating the c's eventually.

The angle on the driveshaft at the transfer case is rather extreme, and I will be bolting up a cv style shaft to correct that.

My rigs have not been happy with less that 5* caster, 7* prefered. The pinion ends up just about level with the ground.
