i hav the same kind of truck as you with a six inch bds lift and 35 inch hankook dynapro mts. but what i did different is i bought a mint 96 bronco with 68000 miles on it for the drivetrain. i would have put my lift on the bronco except its smashed on the side pretty bad. i got perfect body parts off the bronco. send me a message if you want to buy any parts from me except for motor, trans and axles. if your interested in the t-case let me know!

I might be interested in the computer and harness off the bronco if it had a v8 with an e4od trans.
I have purchased all new body panels, except for the hood.
Might be interested in the t-case if it an electronic one, but that step is a long way off till I get and engine and a body on this thing.

the TTB is back in for now. With me having so many problems with the rear axles brakes, and fixing the body, the straight axle kinda went to the back burner, since I need to rebuild it and don't have the money, where as the ttb was just sitting there and had all new parts, so I figured what the hell for now anyway. It's only 4 bolts and its off again.

I need to get a plasma cutter so I can make some brakets that I have been drawing and thinking about. I have an idea for a cushioned bracket for a straight axle to use the extened ttb arms.
I was hoping you would beat the hell out of your truck and tell me that the arms are still perfect. I am getting conflicting information about not have bushings with the arms just being bolted to the axle.

that is awsome dude!
I just disassembled the d44 today so I could move it, lol.
It was just too friggin heavy to move assembled and being that it is a HD model didn't help either.

Needs some serious love, and I do not like the way that the calipers and brackets work. I wonder if there is a way to use the gm calipers and pads. I mean I have to buy new calipers and rotors anyway since these are rusted all to hell from sitting.
Still wondering if I shouldn't just sell it and look for a d60.

More pics comming

Tore down the 351w today as well, and ordered all the fun parts.
Girdle is comming as well as a 393 crank off of ebay, if all goes well. It says it is balanced, but I wonder if I shouldn't send it out anyway. Anyone had any experience with these?

More pics of this to come as well.

Well, I am taking a break from the engine since I am no sitting on a pile of cash to do it the way I want. I really think I should put the truck on hold until I can find a diesel truck to swap all the parts from it, or save up about $8k to get everything I need for a drivetrain.

Anyway since I have time and no money, thought I'd sepnd some time today with a wire brush.
I removed the other inner fender and the wiring harness. I also removed the leaky-rusty steering gear.

The frame looked rather good after just using a wire brush.

I decided to put my 2 stage compressor to work after looking at the frame and use up some of that sand I bought a while ago.

After an hour of blasting, I thought it looked a lot better.

After cleaning up the rest I put down a coat of chassis saver. I think it looks rather good.

I hit the radiator bracket with the BFH and knocked off a ton of rust.
I think I need to fab up some new ones. Does anyone know if anybody makes these? Mine are in horrible shape and thin as a piece of paper.

Haven't had much time and definetly not much money to fix the ol 5.8 or buy a 5.9 cummins like I would rather have....
Anyway, just like in marrage, have to savor the small victories.
I put on the new steering box today after giving it a coat of paint. I hope it makes a diffirence whenever I get this thing back on the road besides just not leaking like the last one did.

anyway take a look.

I do have a crankshaft and my engine and heads are back from the machine shop, so at least I have some things I can do before I need to buy more parts.

Well the engine is almost finished. It looks like I can use an old set of valve covers I had laying around since the stock ones rusted through. Someone told me that they would not fit, but it looks like there is a ton of clearance.

Anyone have any suggestions on what color to paint the valve covers and the upper intake?

Anyway, I need some new injectors, as mine didn't come out very well and kinda broke apart since I needed to use a little bit of excessive force.

I am hoping to get the engine in this week, as well as assemble the front clip and install it.

I meant there is space between the valve covers and the upper intake.

I have 2 upper intakes, 1 says FORD 5.8, and the other one has a blue oval and says electronic fuel injection.
I think I am going to go with the blue oval one. I kinda like the idea of painting it blue like the rest and then making the letters gold like on the outside of the body.

I also like the idea of going black with red raised lettering too.

Still looking for some injectors, and I just bought new motor mounts and picked up my new dipstick tube so I'll be putting those on.

Gonna go sandblast the upper intake and valve covers (they have some rust underneath) and get to painting. Still not sure on the color, but I do have a can of liquid chrome lol.

After a lot of elbow grease and a few cans of paint, the engine is about ready to drop into the truck. Still waiting on injectors before I do it so I don't get any water or grime in the intake.

Thanks!
I hope to get all of the accessories on tommorrow and start putting the front fenders on as well as the radiator support.

I hope to have it running by friday, but I need another $500 in misc junk, mostly AC parts, but PS hoses and such.

More to come...

lots of setbacks, but I think I will be ready to put on the fenders tommorrow. I coated them in primer and painted the inners royal navy blue.
I think I am going to go a theme for this truck.
Blue Angel

Sound good?

Make the truck out like a blue angel. Got an image in my head, just not sure how to make it a reality.
Need some pics to study, some aircraft gauges, and a turbine engine would be awsome!

But back to where it is at for now.

Here are some pics of recent progress.
