96% yes.

I don't understand the 3% that voted no.

Even though the writers meant BEAR arms..

Correct me if im wrong but doesn't the 2nd amendment only guarantee the right to bear arms if part of an organized militia? Its been a while wince Ive read the constitution, but If if recall, outside of said militia is not protected? dont get me wrong im pro gun rights but It seems like that is the wording.

I agree with your interpetation. The right to bear arms (or even bare arms) comes with stipulations. Some are not written in the 2nd amendment - such as felons cannot bear arms, others are written in - bearing arms for purposes of being a member of a militia.

I think common sense has to be used, just as it has been used for over 200 years. Democrats are in a panic cause guns are so accessable and Republicans are in a panic "cause Obaamuh is gunna take are gunz from uss". This discussion/arguement has been raging between tree hugging and bible thumping for years. It will reverse when the next repub prez takes office.

Amendment 2 - Right to Bear Arms. Ratified 12/15/1791.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

It also serves as a back up plan if we end up with some psycho running our government and we need to protect ourselves. I don't really see what argument people have against individuals baring arms

Di you know there are variations in the way the second amendment was written and passed.

However they all said the people have the right to keep and bear arms...

I should clarify: I mean - those who lean to the right or are more conservative seem to be in a panic at the local gun shows and gun stores (that's just my experience - listening and talking to people). When Obama was elected it just appeared to me that the right wing supporters had many members start to panic and started buying up guns and ammo like crazy. My observation is that Guns Galore in Fenton has a packed parking lot from 10:00a to 4:00pm and it's not a major hunting season.

On the other hand it seems to me that liberals or those leaning to the left have been expressing their thoughts toward the side of supporting tighter gun regualtion.

No insult intended, just my experience/opinion formed over the last couple of months. I may just be stating the obvious.

Don't worry about insulting anybody, especially me...

The facts are the leftwing liberals would like to disarm the average citizen, that plays into their bigger government control position....

The poll is at 1,709,000+ votes right now.& (96%yes) I think what they we're looking for was the idea people didn't know what the 2nd was.

All that matters is what is written in the second amendment.
