Only until you get old!!!
My kids are now 15 & 18.
Most of the time we leave a note on the table as we head out to the trails!
Bad part is my son can out ride me now. being 6-2 and only 120lbs work to his benefit!

I used to ride Cannonsburg 2-3x a week and Yankee Springs on the weekends. Now I'm lucky to sneak out here and there, but now my daughter loves riding on the bike (18 months), so hopefully I can get back to some light trails with her.

I'm kind of worried about the same thing, some smarta$$ 13 year old kid that is riding a bike that I paid for giving me the same crap that I give my dad kicking my butt around island lake. I've never been in the best shape, but by riding smartly I've always been able to kill my buddies around that thing. Looks like I'll have to follow the words that one of the old guys that I used to work with would say. Age and trickery will always beat youth and enthusiasm. Maybe I'll make sure his brakes grab a little all the time.
