I'm not going to register for the event but the badlands is still open to anyone during that time. I have been leading trails, setting courses and helping out with the event since 1999 so I'm sure I'll be fine.

Needs a windshield bar.

What is your expected final weight? What does that engine/trans/tcase combo weight?

I have only put in the perimeter bars because I have been trying to get the proportions right, I think I finally have it balanced out and I'm going to start finishing it off.

The weight on the atlas was 125 shipping weight, I'm guessing the TH400 will be close to 200 with fluid and a converter and I have heard the LS's weigh in around 450 with accessories. I'm guessing mine will be in the 425 mark because I wont have the A/C compressor and I'll have different exhaust on it. So maybe around 700-750 for drivetrain weight? If anyone has a hanging scale I can borrow I'd get a weight. I think the axles are 350 front and 300 rear and then add in the tires at 90 each and then wheels at 40 each brings it to around 1900 and then add in shocks, links, tube, seats, steering.... I dont see how it will be below 3000lbs....

You might be surprised my buggy is on the large size and when we added all the safety crap for the XRRA a few years back it tipped the scales at 3600#

I have access to a digital scale that'll probably work for you. PM me if you think you might want to use it.

Cool. I know you have posted it before, but what was your Geo weight? Sounds like you are going to be similar with this build, but a bit lighter.

with the 4 cylinder, iroks and walkers it was around 3400 without me but ready for the trail, after the engine swap and heavier tires I'm guessing it was closer to 3700.

If this one is below 3300 without me I'll be happy enough. I am using a fair amount of 1/4" on some brackets that will get drug through the crap so I dont have to worry about one failiing on me at an inopportune time....
