So disregarding law enforcement is OK if you have someplace important to be? If he stopped when told, it wouldn't have been an issue.

Yes, you pretty much summed it up. A dieing relative would cause many to be disobedient to the law. Sorry you're such a cold hearted bastard that can't seem to wrap your mind around this simple thought.

Any truth to the rumor that the guy that killed those Oakland cops last week during a routine traffic stop was on his way to the hospital and just didn't have time to talk to them?

A dying relative is a good reason to blow through a red light, drive fast, blah, blah, blah.
But when the red and blue lights come on, you pull over. wrap your mind around that.
Moats escalated the situation by not pulling over.
The chief of police is a pussy and a punk for apologizing.

Your correct, moats did escalate the situation by not stopping as he should have. I ahve no issue what action the officer took until the point where he learned of the exact situation and then didnt react accordingly. Whats wrong with getting the ID yada yada yada, then letting they guy and his family go to the room, while the officer does the paperwork, then either leave it at the front desk, or, if he has to sign something, go to the room and have him sign it. Also, Once moates de-escalated the officer had to play "I could do this" blah blah and wasted time. He didnt need to waste more time than necessary. Explain it once tell him what you are going to and do it. Dont beat the dead horse.

Let's reverse the situation? It's a black cop and a white guy trying to see his dying mother-in-law? Does anyone here change their opinion?
Any cop that does not understand the situation is an idiot. I could care less who this no name NFL player is, the situation was handled poorly and without compassion. Cost the cop his job, certainly not. A lesson in compassion, definitely...

I did not see race or even the fact that someone involved was an NFL player play into anything that happened at the scene. Why are you trying to add it after the fact?

Exactly.

I'm quite racist myself and hate football but the bullshit he put that family thru is just that, I hope he loses his job, Now that might teach him some compassion. I would have really liked to see that black guy knock his ass right out because he definatly deserved it but, OHH what a crime that would have been. The brother in blue.

I'll give you most of that, after he clears wants and warrants.
But we shouldn't make it sound like it was an life or death emergency.

I think everyone should use this excuse to get out of their next ticket...the fuzz would never think anyone would lie to them...plus there are hospitals all over the place so pick one and say you are going there

when the cop was following a car that was fleeing and eluding I did not see what color the driver of either vehicle was.

I am not saying race played a role in this situation and do not think it did. Apparently it hasn't because we haven't heard from Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. My point was, would anyone following this post that sides with the police officer in this case, change their mind if the cop was black and the driver white.
Deep down, what is influencing which you side with you are on? I've seen enough on this site to simply wonder...am I on the cop's side or the white guy's side? Just trying to make people think, question, whatever...

I think all of you anti-cop punks should ride your fat asses in a scout car for about three weeks in the inner city during the hot summer, then I think you should work traffic for about a month straight in a cruiser before you can comment intelligently on the topic.

The first three times you let somebody "walk away" to go see their dying mother and you end up chasing them on foot all around the neighborhood then I bet you wouldn't make that mistake again.

BTW. People lie to us all day/night long, every day, all day, every week, all week, every month, all month, every year, all year. That's all we hear is lies, lies, lies. I don't believe a fucking thing any of you fuckers tell me. If your mom dies while I'm writing you a ticket for running a red light......boo-the-fuck-whoo. The ten extra seconds it took you to stop at the light wouldn't have held you up long enough to make a difference.

I can't wait to retire. And, if anybody tells me a story like this and has never done the job or even tries to talk to me about cops I'm gonna punch them right in the cunt.

Because I'm having fun choking little fuckers like you until they cry like little bitches. When I was a dog handler, I liked it when my dog used to bite little whiny bitches like you. He hated little white-boy pussies even more than I do.

Ludington? Is that your summer home or do you actually live there? I'll bet you hang out at the Tiki Lounge with all the other little brats don't you?
