Ram 318 Ruff Idle/surging Oil and Battery Gauges

I have a 96 ram 318, while stopped like at a stoplight or something the engine seems to surge and the gauges on the dash do the same. symptoms vary from heavy surging to light. sometimes truck will completely die. Thought it might be gummed up throttle plates but i cleaned them and still have same results. Not very mechanically inclined hopeing someone might know or have an idea.

Thanks

is your battery charging? sounds like an alternator problem or voltage regulator acting up.

if its charging and making a steady 12.5 to 15 volts then I would be looking at a fuel pump presure issue. its the first places I would start.
