Default 2002 TJ on 33's

What would a 2002 TJ on 33 Mud Kings 4.0L 4" lift, Bilsteins, ~ 50K be worth to you guys who know such things. They are asking ~ 12K I told him to offer 10K.

A younger guy at my work has one that he is evaluating right now. Looks really clean and well taken care of.

He mentioned some death wobble when he first test drove it but supposedly they fixed that some how. On that subject isn't the fix to use a drop pitman arm or is it a dropped track bar. It appears to have a dropped track bar but pitman looks stock.

I have some cell phone pics that I will post up. Any advice would be appreciated.

pitman arm wouldnt have an effect on DW i dont think, but a track bar would. cant really see either of them very well in the pictures. the dropped t-case is a quick/cheap fix for the angle that the lift produced on the rear d-shaft. not a bad solution, but not the best.

what size engine and what gears does it have?

track bar does not look stock and the bracket bolting it to the frame seems dropped (it's welded on if that helps) and it has a spherical rod end.

4.0L and stock gears he did mention it was pretty sluggish in 5th.

hmm doesnt sound like a whole lot was actually done to it then. what id do is look up an average price for a TJ like this one, minus the lift, and then add 1-1.5k on the price and thats what id estimate the price for this one to be

not sure the cost on that brand of lift, but im sure the lift and tires wouldnt exceed much more than 1.5-2k new.

i've bought and sold 8 TJ's in the past year, that price seems a lil steep, and he definatly used alot of gloss black spray paint under to hide the surface rust, lol

Possible cause of DW Is a wallowed out trackbar bracket. Real common problem with TJ's.
