Sandrail project - Calumet, MI

I've got a sandrail project that I've had for a while, but haven't really had the time into getting together.

I don't know what make the frame is, but it looks like it may have been a kit or something, but I can't say for sure. It looks like it was well done and is solid except for one spot that you can see in the pictures below. The front wheels are spindle mounts, and the rear has adapters for 4 bolt to 5 on 4.5" I have two kegs I planned on using for a tank, one aluminum one and one rubber/plastic one. Also has a tow bar for it.

The motor was from a '69 beetle my Dad had, sold to a friend, who promptly tore the heads and jugs off for some unknown reason. It ran perfectly when he tore it apart. I got the block with the rods hanging out of it from the friend. The motor turns freely and I would have no problems throwing it together like it is. May be wash the block out with some mineral spirits and WD40. Now, having said that I have a complete rebuild kit with main/cam/rod bearings, 1650cc jugs, pushrods, valves, etc, etc. The heads are single ports that have been rebuilt.

The transmission I got with the rail and I was told that it had some work done on it to beef it up. I've never had it apart, so I can't verify/deny that.

Parts needed to finish it:
Clutch disk (or clutch kit if you prefer)
Bolt kit for engine assembly
Carburetor rebuild kit
Throttle/Clutch cable
Sheetmetal for floor
Matching seat
Tires

I'm just looking to get my money out of it: $950.00

Also interested in trades up or down. Looking for tools or Ford parts: D44 solid axle and parts for a SAS, Sterling or 14-bolt rear, 7.3/6.9 IDI diesel parts, tires 35" or larger, H1 wheels, and possibly a TTB lift for an F150 or F250.

If you buy it soon, I'll even throw the snow in for free!!!

Thanks,
mR
