Default Mud bogs in Albright?

Does anyone have any information about if the Gladwin County Ice Carnival Grounds in Albrightshores are going to have mud bogs and sand drags this summer? I heard there is a meeting on March 16th, but can't find anyone who knows where or what time? Anyone that knows what's going on?

You should try to find Ken Kellers number, I think he is in charge of somethings over there...

Thankyou ~ I'll try that. I believe he's the present president of the board. I was told the meeting next week is to elect all new board members.....who knows? But anyway, thanks. I couldn't think of Ken's last name.

Well, if we can find out when the meeting is for sure and where ~ this may be the time to change it back to what it was. In 2004 when we first started going there we'd get there by 8 am to have a great parking place. The first time we bogged the jeep, there were 22 trucks in our class. Last summer, we could show up whenever and still park wherever we wanted and ANY class was lucky to have the mandatory 3 trucks so they could HAVE that class. I'd love to see it go back to what it used to be...........
I don't have the answers, but changes need to be made. If it keeps going down hill at the rate it has been, it'll disappear totally.

We wish it was like it was before, the last time we bogged was in 2004. They need to make the classes like they were so that you dont have to have a professionally made truck to run. I dont mean the pieces of shit that are falling apart, but like telling you that you need a working dash??? For what? when you only drive it to the pit and then the 200 ft of the pit. Or that we have to have a dog house on the radiator in the back of the truck?? I would tell them they need to go back to the old rules and I bet them would have lots more people show up to run what they brung!!!

I think Phil from Bay City is on here and he can shed some light on this. Mudfest was a good time when they had that.

I hope Phil shows up Monday at the meeting. Actually hoping he'll be on the board.

And what does "moved" mean by this thread?

We went to the meeting a couple of weeks ago and they said they were going to have bogs, as well as sand drags but didn't have a schedule yet. The primary purpose of that meeting was to elect new board members. I'm hoping that means change is coming??!!

Not sure. I know the lady that used to take care of it isn't very involved anymore. They advertised the snowmobile races at http://www.teshio.com/vsn/albrightshores/index.htm not sure if they'll list summer activities there or not.....
