Anyone out there fluent in the operation of this regarding getting your trails entered in the handheld, transferred to the card and getting them into your computer? I've given up.

What type of cable does it take to hook-up the GPS to your PC? My Garmin has a different one than the Magellan I got. I just use a SD card on the Mag. I am not familiar with the Lowrance ones though.

It's their own 2.0 reader. I can put maps on the chip, put a trail down, waypoints etc, load this stuff back to card but can't for the life of me get the pink line to show up on the master map. Open a file and I'll briefly see the green bar graphic filling(if large enough) then screen will just pogo back to the dialog box(open file)

Are there any updates from Lowrance for the software?

I have the same issue. It's a great GPS, but hard to use the software.

I did manage to get trail plots to show up once, how I don't know. Too many times I had the thing on all way up north so my map got cluttered with straight shot lines so I cleared them.
I believe the fault is maybe my computer not being able to open usr files. When or if times get better, I'm switching to Garmin or DeLorme

You can't go wrong with a Garmin. I would avoid Magellan. Their customer service sucks.

I think they made it free to run the GPS files on Google Earth now (the latest version that is). You can give that a try too.

If you can connect the GPS to the PC, GE has its own reading/conversion abilities.
