Default catalytic converters

Are there any scrap yards out there within a 15 mile radius of Shelby Twp. that are still buying these?(at a decent price)

It may be a bit further than 15 miles, but try Richmond recycling.

Scrap has takin a big dive...last time I knew aluminum was down to like 15 cents a pound...you will probably be lucky to get $2 for a cat-converter!

its not the aluminium they want in the cats its the platinum.

use maps.google.com and search for metal recycling and your zip code.

I have not sold any cats lately but would guess a good one is still worth around $50. Platinum is the big dollar metal but even that took a big dive. When scrap was up platinum was selling for $2000 an once now it is around $1000 so I am sure that the value of cats followed right along.

I know it is platinum but if aluminum is down to 15 cents a pound that means all metal prices have plunged...I can guarantee you are not going to get $50 out of one right now! Like I said you will probably be lucky to get $2

You may want to hold on to them for a while till the prices go back up.

We just had our scrap guy offer us 40 each for the ones we have at the shop, maybe 7-8 total. We decide to hang on to them for a while yet.
